3 compelling reasons why you should get a running coach

You aren’t a professional athlete, that doesn’t mean you deserve any less from a running coach.

You don’t need to wait until you’re good enough.

You don’t need to be the fastest.

You don’t need permission.

You don’t need to have a certain body type.

You get the message.

What breaks my heart the most when it comes to coaching? Seeing clients who are left paralysed by self-doubt that they are willing to accept a mediocre service from a coach or better still, have completely dismissed the idea of getting one in the first place because they have fallen trap to one or more of the reasons above.

Running coaches are open to everyone of all speeds and ages, no matter where you are in your running journey. Even if you are right at the start of that journey. And whilst there are plenty of online plans available, from Couch to 5k to ultra marathon, having a training plan that is a bit more bespoke to where you are right now, and your goals can reap huge training gains over the standard off the shelf plans.

I am here for anyone who simply wants running to be enjoyable. Anyone who has ever caught themselves wondering in time could you really do something that pushed your limits. I am telling you that you absolutely should reach for that big goal. The sky’s the limit here, there is no room for dreaming small.

Let’s look at three ways a running coach will help you achieve your goals.

1.     Tailored to your pace and goal

A running coach will work with you to design a super personalised training plan that is tailored to you and your goals, helping you to get faster and stronger from whatever your starting point. We are here to tell you what pace you should actually be training at in order to get better and keep reminding you to slow down on easy days.

2.     In your corner from start to finish

Having the support of a coach in your back-pocket, whenever you need them is invaluable. Whether it’s a pep-talk for those big scary workouts you never thought were possible or someone to celebrate your tiny victories along the way. You are not doing this alone; a running coach is will be right beside you. And if you fall, we will be there to pick you back up again.

3.     Hold you accountable

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt from my own running journey is having someone to hold you accountable to do the work and drive you towards your goals is the fastest way to make your dreams happen. We’ll help not to freak out when you need to miss a day or two of training and help you get back on track.

So, have I convinced you?

If you are looking to run your first ultra or simply want running to be enjoyable, I’d love to help, no matter where you are in your running journey.
